For Halloween I made a radical costume, with a custom sword and crest. I was bored one night, and decided to make a story to go along with the sword.

Liero VS. Sygell

There once was a town by the name of Karthegill. This town was ruled by King Deadalus, and Queen Deadalus. The queen had a child, for they needed to hand the name of "King" down to a prince. As there child was born, there was also another. Liero and Sygell were the names that the king and queen found fitting. The first born, Liero, would become the next king, for it is tradition for the first born child to hold nobility. Sygell would be horribly depressed to find out that he couldn't be the prince, so the king and queen held it as a secret.
At ages 16, Liero and Sygell knew that there father would die soon. The both went to there mother and brought up the question of who would become the next king. Queen Deadalus walked up to Sygell, very hesitant to tell him the truth. She had to tell him, or the town would be king-less and fall into a dark period. She whispered in Sygell's ear, telling him that he was born first. She had lied. She did favor them both the same, so she couldn't break Liero's heart by lying to him. She told Liero that he was born first. Liero and Sygell approached each other, each filled with glee, and both exclaimed "I am the next king!". The were both quite sure that there mother had told eachother that they were the prince. Without a way too find out for sure, they chose the only true way to get to the throne. They decided that a battle to the death would be most fit.
They both raged with there swords for many moons until, finally, there father, the king, had died in war. With nobody to guide the villagers, they fell into a dark period. As Liero and Sygell's battle raged on, the villagers decided most fit to cast a vote on who the next king would be. Half the town said that Liero was the first born, and half the town claimed that Sygell was the first born, for nobody truly knew. The wisest wizard of the town claimed that he, for he knew the most about leadership, should be the king. Both brothers found this absurd. They forgot about there squable and tried to murder the wizard, who might be the next king.
As they tried to murder him, he cast a powerful spell that disintegrated there physical forms, and binded there soul to the swords. Both swords fell to the ground, with Liero's soul in one, and Sygell's soul in the other. The ext day, nobody knew where the two brothers had gone. To be honest, nobody cared. The town was peaceful, and the wizard had become the new king, however the wizard was old, and died a few years after becoming king.
Now there really was no possibility for a new king. The town was defenseless, and leader-less. After a few moths of hardship, Karthegill was attacked by bandits, who were hungry for gold and riches. They town was completely destroyed. Everybody there had been killed, and all that was left were ruins and the two swords, of Liero and Sygell.

Three hundred years had past and the ruins had not been touched. Finally, two very skilled warriors who were headed of to battle, had to cross the town. As they crossed the town, it was night-time and they eeded to sleep. They found the building that had been damaged the least, and rested there for the night. When the two brothers woke up, they searched the tow for any supplies that could be useful. All they found where two swords with some ancient symbols on them.
They picked up the swords, and they felt something about the swords...Something gave them a fealing of power and strength. The odd symbols on the swords had disintegrated into there hands, and formed a new symbol. The ew symbols had a gold background, with strange black etchings on them. One sword had the letters "D" and "M" on it, and the other had the letters "K" and "M" on it. The two warriors had recognized these letters. They where there initials. Dan Murphy, and Kevin Murphy.
They brought these swords back to the king, and asked him what they should do with them. The king let them keep the swords, and use them in battle. Later, the brothers, Dan and Kevin. had been talking about the swords. They had both realised that most swords had names. Something that would reflect the power, speed, or nobility of the sword. They thought long and hard about what they wanted the names to be...It finally hit them. Something told Dan that his sword must be named...Liero. He had no idea why he liked the name. It just seemed fitting. Kevin decided to name his sword, Sygell. He, too, didn't know what he liked about the names.
Dan and Kevin decided to test out there swords, and tried to practice on eachother. As the two swords clashed together, amazing blue sparks flew out of them. It was an amazing sight to see, so Dan and Kevin continued to clash the swords and watched the dazzleing sparks. They did this for about two hours, until they just couldn't stop. They started to clash the swords harder and harder, making more blue sparks. They become furius with there swings and instead of hitting the sword together, they started hitting each others armor. They kept slashing and stabbing until, finally, they realized...They wanted to kill each other. They smashed the two swards agaisnt eachother, trying to cause death. For many days, they did this, until there army commander found them fighting. The commander knew that they wanted to hurt eachother, and threw them in seperate dungeons, to separate them.
After about 3 months, Dan was let out of his dungeon. He instinctively went to his brothers dungeon, to battle. He got there, and realized that Kevin was gone! He had burrowed out of the dungeon and was now traveling away. Dan had to find him. He wanted to kill him. He had no idea why. All that oth the brothers knew is that Kevin, with the blade Sygell, must die at the hands of Dan, with the blade Liero, or Dan with the blade Liero, must die by the hands of Kevin, with the blade Sygell.
